Position Summary:

*The pay rate for this position is $25.00-$27.00/hour. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be dependent on factors, including but not limited to the individual’s qualifications, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as physical work location within the state.

Spartan Turf Products is looking for motivated individuals who want to develop their mechanical skills while working on commercial turf equipment used by golf courses, athletic fields, and municipalities throughout the Midwest.

We are looking for a developing technician at our Elm Grove, WI location, who is dependable, eager to learn, and ready to build mechanical and technical skills in a growing industry. If you enjoy troubleshooting and repairing equipment, working with tools, and learning new technology, we want to hear from you.

What You’ll Do

• Troubleshoot and perform repairs on commercial and consumer turf equipment including fairway mowers, rough mowers, greens mowers, utility vehicles, and related equipment
• Perform maintenance and repairs on gas and diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems
• Learn to diagnose hydraulic and electrical issues using diagnostic tools and schematics
• Set up new equipment and prepare equipment for customer delivery
• Tear down, sharpen, and reassemble cutting reels and blades
• Learn equipment technologies across Toro and additional product lines
• Maintain shop tools and work areas in a clean, organized, and safe manner
• Assist with maintenance of company vehicles and shop equipment as needed
• Work collaboratively with teammates to support productivity and customer satisfaction
• Continue learning through Toro University training and emerging equipment technologies

What We’re Looking For

• Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
• Experience working on engines, vehicles, machinery, landscaping equipment, diesel equipment, automotive systems, small engines, agricultural equipment, or related mechanical systems preferred
• Ability to troubleshoot problems and think critically
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Comfortable learning diagnostic software and using computers for equipment diagnostics
• Ability to occasionally lift 50 pounds independently and 75 pounds with assistance
• Ability to walk, stand, bend, squat, push, pull, and work in a shop environment
• Valid driver’s license preferred
• Ability to obtain forklift certification
• Must provide and maintain personal tools
