Position Summary:

*The salary for this position is $55,000 annual base pay + monthly commission/bonus earning potential. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be dependent on factors, including but not limited to the individual’s qualifications, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as physical work location within the state.

The Commercial Equipment Territory Manager is responsible to achieve annual sales/profit goals by fulfilling customer needs efficiently through management of their assigned territory. This position is required to prospect for, cultivate and call-on assigned accounts, as well as identify influencers and oversee these relationships for the betterment of market share and profit. The expectations of this position are to exceed customer requests and uphold the ideals and standards of Spartan Turf Products. This position will cover the territory of Western Michigan.

Essential Job Duties

  • Maintain and grow profitability by increasing market share.
  • Forecast sales on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
  • Make appointments and manage daily work schedule.
  • Drive truck and trailer which are used to transport equipment to assigned customers.
  • Operate and conduct demonstrations of equipment.
  • Become a product expert of Toro and Allied equipment.
  • Build relationships and be involved in local chapters.
  • Create and deliver presentations tailored to audience needs.
  • Report on customer activity and build annual sales plan.
  • Learn and understand sales cycles of clients.
  • Actively participate in social media and marketing efforts.
  • Other duties as assigned

Education and/or Experience

  • Two or Four-year Degree in Landscaping, Horticulture, Turf, or related field; or bachelor’s degree is desired.
  • Two to Four years’ minimum experience in the Golf industry and/or Sports Fields & Grounds industry.

  • Ability to build productive and positive business professional relationships.
  • Highly motivated and target driven with a proven track record in successful sales.
  • Excellent relationship management and negotiation skills.
  • Strong computer knowledge (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) with ability to utilize iPad, text messaging, and various social media platforms.
  • Effective planning, investigative, analytical, and reporting skills.
  • Positive attitude and the ability to work as part of a team.
  • Must be self-motivated and willing to take on any necessary tasks to assist customers and fulfill all necessary duties.
  • Valid Driver’s License. Ability to obtain a medical card.
  • Availability for overnight travel (one to two weeks a year of overnight stay).

Physical Demands

Must have the ability to meet physical requirements, including alternating between standing, sitting, walking, bending, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, stooping, kneeling, and crouching.Must occasionally lift and/or move between 50-75 lbs. Will be lifting and lowering trailer ramps often.
